Statkraft has begun the construction phase of its 58MW Moanvane wind farm. The plant, which will feature 12 turbines with a tip height of up to 169 metres, is being built in County Offaly, Ireland.
The company has stated that Moanvane and other projects are of significant help for Ireland and the local community amidst the energy and climate crisis.
The project also includes a 6km amenity trail that will strengthen local biodiversity. Another benefit provided by the initiative is an annual community benefit fund of more than €300,000.
The Offaly County Council granted Statkraft a planning permission for the project in April 2018.
Moanvane is receiving €86m of total investment by the developer, with start-up currently set for 2024.
