The United States’ Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has authorised Tellurian to move on with the development of two new pipelines, Line 200 and Line 300, in Louisiana.
Associated to the Driftwood liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal project, the pipelines will be able to transport up to 5.5 billion cubic feet per day (bcfpd) of natural gas.
The pipelines will be nearly emissions-free with the installation of Baker Hughes’ electric-powered integrated compressor line (ICL) technology.
As a whole, the Driftwood project, on the Calcaciseu River’s west bank, is calculated to cost US$1.4bn. Once complete, it will have an export capacity of approximately 27.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG.
