A recent announcement by BP has stated that construction works have begun for the 107MW Arche Solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Fulton County, Ohio. About 200 jobs will be created for this development phase.
The facility, developed by BP in a joint venture with Lightsource bp, will be able to power over 20,000 homes in the United States per year.
Over the plant’s lifespan, Arche Solar’s revenues will also contribute with US$30m to local schools and other public services. A power purchase agreement (PPA) for the initiative has already been placed with Meta.
McCarthy Building Companies has been chosen as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, while First Solar and NEXTracker will supply PV panels and trackers, respectively.
