R Power is developing a 650MW battery energy storage system (BESS) portfolio in Poland. The company currently intends to install three projects in the country with 2,300MWh in total.
According to R Power, this is one of Central and Eastern Europe's largest energy storage pipelines to date. Named Jedwabno, Tursko and Gdansk, each facility secured a 17-year contract in Poland's capacity auction last year.
Jedwabno will be operational until the end of 2025, while Tursko and Gdansk should reach start-up between 2028 and 2029.
