GE Vernova has secured a contract from SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction for the Taiba 1 and the Qassim 1 projects in Saudi Arabia. The company will supply gas turbines for both the power plants.
The Taiba 1 and Qassim 1 projects are developed by a consortium formed by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and ACWA Power. Combined, they are expected to have a capacity of up to 3.8GW.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for these initiatives are handled by SEPCOIII. It will receive six 7HA.03 and two 7E.03 gas turbines from GE Vernova.
After delivery of the turbines, GE Vernova will also be responsible for maintenance services for a period of 21 years.
