Enel Green Power has started construction for its 152MW Grizzly Bear Creek wind farm in Alberta, Canada. This stage of the project comes after the Alberta Utilities Commission issued a new permit for the plant.
Grizzly Bear Creek will see the installation of 34 turbines in the counties of Minburn and Vermilion River. Its annual output is estimated at 528GWh.
Enel calculates that about 250 people will be involved in construction, with seven permanent jobs to be created for operations and maintenance services following completion.
The project is expected to operate for 30 years after start-up is achieved later this year. During that time, the developer will pay landowners for the use of land, as well as provide over €59m in tax revenues.
