The first development phase of Arevon Energy's Eland solar power project has entered operations in the United States. The facility, which features 384MW of generation capacity and 150MW/600MWh of energy storage capacity, already has a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) firmed with Southern California Public Power Authority.
This power plant is part of a larger complex to be concluded in Kern County. Construction for the second phase of Eland is now ongoing, with first power expected in early 2025.
Eland is one of the US largest hybrid solar-storage developments, reaching a total investment of over US$2bn. Once up and running, total combined capacity will reach 758MWdc of solar generation and 300MW/1,200MWh of energy storage.
