With half of foundations and a quarter of turbines successfully installed at the project’s site, the Formosa 2 offshore wind farm in Taiwan has already achieved first power. After completion, the plant will have a capacity of 376MW.
Installation works for jacket foundations began in April, with installation for array cables starting in May and for turbines in early June.
The Formosa 2 project is executed by JERA (49%), Macquarie's Green Investment Group (through Corio Generation, with 26%) and Swancor Renewable  (25%).
Located in the Miaoli region, in water depths of 55 metres, Formosa 2 should reach full operations until the end of 2022.
