A 49MW/98MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) developed by TagEnergy and Harmony Energy has entered operations. The Jamesfield project is located close to Abernethy, Scotland.
The Jamesfield BESS facility features Tesla's Megapack lithium-ion batteries and Autobidder AI software.
Harmony Energy entered the project in November 2021, after acquiring a 60% stake in Jamesfield. Commissioning was ongoing since November 2023, with completion following in February 2024.
With Jamesfield now operational, TagEnergy's BESS portfolio in the United Kingdom has been increased to 320MW/640MWh.
