Vestas has been selected by EnBW as the wind turbines supplier for the He Dreiht offshore wind farm. The plant, to be built in the German portion of the North Sea, will have a capacity of 900MW.
According to the agreement, the contractor will provide 64 turbines (model V236-15.0MW) for He Dreiht in 2025. After installation, Vestas will also be responsible for maintenance services.
The equipment’s development is still ongoing at Vestas’ R&D and manufacture facilities. The first prototype will be deployed this year, with production set to start in 2024.
Cadeler, meanwhile, will carry out the transport and installation of the chosen turbines. Installation is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2025, with start-up coming by the end of the same year.
