The government of Canada's Ontario province is currently preparing the development of its first nuclear power project in more than 30 years. It will consist of an up to 4.8GW expansion of Bruce Power's existing plant in the province.
The company will be responsible for executing consultations with the community surrounding the site and environmental studies for further assessment of the federal government.
The initiative is motivated by an unexpected rise in electricity demand, which was not registered since 2005.
