SSE and Equinor, developers of the fourth development phase of the Dogger Bank project in the UK, have submitted the wind farm's scoping report for government approval.
The Planning Inspectorate will be responsible for assessing Dogger Bank D's report. The 2GW project has been determined as a nationally significant infrastructure project (NSIP).
SSE Renewables and Equinor expect to install the power plant approximately 210km off the coast. Once operational, it will be connected to the 400kV Birkhill Wood substation in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
With the addition of this fourth phase, Dogger Bank could become the world's largest operational offshore wind farm.
