Installation works for the inter-array cables of the Dogger Bank A project has been completed, DEME Offshore has recently confirmed. The 1.2GW offshore wind farm is being built in the UK North Sea.
Nearly 330km of 66kV inter-array cables have been built for Dogger Bank A. The project is developed by a joint venture formed by SSE Renewables, Equinor and Vårgrønn, while the cables were manufactured by Hellenic Cables for DEME Offshore.
Viking Neptun, DEME Offshore's cable installation vessel, carried out laid works, while Living Stone, another vessel from DEME Offshore, executed burial works.
Once complete, the Dogger Bank complex should feature a system of 277 cables, the largest offshore wind inter-array cable installation programme to date.
