CS Energy has been awarded three solar projects by the New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (NYSERDA). The plants total 270MW and construction is set to start in 2025.
The projects are the 19.99MW Stern Solar, the 90MW York Run Solar and the 160MW Yellow Barn. The facilities will feature single-axis trackers and bifacial panels.
About 3,000 jobs will be created during construction stage and the region is expected to receive US$2.7bn in benefits due to the installation of the plants.
Annual output is calculated at over 500,000MWh, which will enable the replacement of local coal power plants and power more than 70,000 houses.
Start-up is scheduled for 2026.
