Alexela has announced the conclusion of dredging work at the Paldiski LNG terminal, in Lahepere Bay, Estonia. Activities lasted 10 days and were carried out by Jan de Nul.
With this phase done, Paldiski is brought closer to completion, which will take place in two stages: the first one will cover the construction of the terminal’s connection to the Balticconnector pipeline and rental of a floating terminal (FSRU).
The second stage, meanwhile, plans the construction of a “permanent solution”.
After the Paldiski LNG terminal reaches operations, it will become an alternative to Russian gas and diminish Estonia’s dependence on it. The project will have a capacity of 1.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).
