A final investment decision (FID) on the NGL North Phase Two project has been taken by Wolf Midstream. The company will invest almost US$730m in the initiative in Alberta, Canada.
Wolf Midstream intends to significantly increase the natural gas liquids (LNG) production capacity of NGL North with this project. The recovery, transportation and separation system is operational since 2023, with its second development phase expected to reach conclusion in 2027.
At the moment, NGL North is capable of production approximately 70,000 barrels per day (bpd) of NGLs such as ethane, propane, butane and condensate. After the expansion project, Wolf Midstream calculates that the system will produce over 90,000bpd of NGL, of which over 60,000bpd will be ethane.
The majority of the output increase has already been secured through long-term agreements with Alberta's rising petrochemical segment.
