Energy Transfer has announced a final investment decision (FID) on its Permian Basin natural gas pipeline project. Previously called Warrior, the pipeline is now being renamed Hugh Brinson, and will connect the basin in Texas, United States, to the Dallas area.
The pipeline will be built in two phases. The first of them, a 42-inch and 400 miles long section, is designed to have a capacity of 1.5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcfpd). With start of operations scheduled for late 2026, this segment of the pipeline will go from Waha to Maypearl.
Phase one will also include Midland Lateral, a 36-inch and 42 miles long addition linking processing plants in Martin and Midland Counties to Hugh Brinson.
The total investment calculated for the project as a whole reaches approximately US$2.7bn.
