Baker Hughes has been awarded a contract and granted notice to proceed by Venture Global LNG to supply a liquefied natural gas (LNG) system for the first phase of the Plaquemines LNG project in Louisiana.
With an approach that allows faster installation, the liquefaction train system (LTS) is assisting in lowering construction and operational costs.
Baker Hughes manufactures, tests, and transports the pre-assembled and fully integrated modular turbomachinery units for Venture Global LNG.
The company will also provide on-site services to assist in the commissioning of the equipment.
The order builds on a contract awarded to Baker Hughes in late 2021 to provide power generation and electrical distribution equipment for the LNG project.
First equipment deliveries for the Plaquemines LNG project are expected to commence in the first half of 2023.
