Equinor and Polenergia, developers of the Baltyk II and III offshore wind projects, has awarded Siemens Gamesa a wind turbine supply contract. The company was elected the preferred wind turbine supplier for both the projects approximately a year ago.
According to the contract, Siemens Gamesa will manufacture, deliver and provide maintenance and warranty services for 100 turbines of the SG 14-236 DD model, the supplier's largest model to date.
Baltyk II and III, to be installed in Poland's exclusive economic zone off the port of Leba, are planned to have a combined generation capacity of 1.44GW.
