A master plant development agreement has been signed by Kairos Power and Google for nuclear power projects in the United States. According to Kairos Power, the two companies intend to install approximately 500MW by 2035.
According to the agreement, Kairos Power will be responsible for the development, construction and operation of several advanced reactor plants. The output from these facilities will be sold through power purchase agreements (PPAs) to Google, which will also receive ancillary services and environment attributes from Kairos.
The new nuclear assets will be used to power Google's data centres. First power is expected in 2030.
