Prysmian Group has been awarded an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract for an interconnection project between Spain and France. The contract’s value exceeds €800m.
Biscay Gulf, as the project is called, will connect Gatika, in Spain, to Cubnezais, in France. The initiative is developed by INELFE, a joint venture formed by the Spanish and French grid operators.
The contract secured by Prysmian is related to the project’s Cable Link 2 segment, which covers approximately 400km of power cables in land and water. Cable Link 2 will have a capacity of 1GW.
Conclusion of works is scheduled for 2028.
