Vattenfall is currently acquiring the majority share of two offshore wind projects in Sweden. To be located off the west coast of the country, the Vidar and Poseidon projects were initially solely developed by Zephyr Vind.
After the transaction is made official, Vattenfall will own 85% of the developments. Along with Zephyr Vind, the developer will continue the licencing process for both plants.
Vidar and Poseidon will be built approximately 25km off the north of Gothenburg. The majority of the turbines to be installed at the sites will feature floating foundations.
Combined, the two farms will have a capacity of 2.6GW, with annual output reaching 10.5TWh.
