Equinor has announced that its Zagórzyca project in Poland is now operational. The 60MW solar power plant was built in the Damnica municipality by Wento, which has been fully acquired by Equinor and will be the facility's operator.
This milestone represents the increase of Equinor's solar capacity in Poland to 120MW. The 60MW Stępień project is also operational and a third one, dubbed Lipno, is scheduled for commission in 2024.
According to the developer's plans, Zagórzyca will produce energy for a period of 30 years, annually generating 61GWh of power. This is enough to meet the electricity needs of 31,000 Polish homes.
