Guangdong Energy Group has confirmed the start of commercial operations at Guangdong Huizhou, a 1.34GW combined head and power (CHP) plant in China.
Guangdong Huizhou project included the installation of two hydrogen-ready 9HA.01 combined-cycle power generation turbines. The equipment was delivered by GE Vernova and is manufactured by General Harbin Electric Gas Turbine, a joint venture (JV) between GE and Harbin Electric.
According to GE, the facility is the first to use the localised 9HA.01 by General Harbin Electric Gas Turbine in China. Harbin Electric was also involved in the project by supplying steam turbine, generator and balance-of-plant equipment.
Besides inserting electricity into the grid, Guangdong Huizhou will also provide steam for industrial processes in the Huizhou chemical complex.
