The floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit built for the Greater Tortue-Ahmeyim (GTA) development has arrived at the site. Located on the border between Mauritania and Senegal, the liquefied natural gas project is led by BP.
The FPSO was built at China Ocean Shipping Company's shipyard in Qidong. The vessel has been designed to produce 2.3 million metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) in GTA's first development phase.
BP has announced that the FPSO is currently being moored for the safe delivery of first gas to the project's floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessel.
