A Technip Energies-led consortium has received a letter of intent from BP for the development of the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) Power project. The initiative involves the installation of a gas-fired power and carbon capture facility in Teesside, United Kingdom.
The project is owned by a joint venture formed by BP and Equinor. Besides featuring a power output of up to 860MW (enough to meet the needs of 1.3 million homes every year), NZT Power will also be able to capture up to two million tonnes of carbon emissions per year.
In the consortium with Technip Energies are GE Vernova, which will provide a gas turbine, a steam turbine, a generator and a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) and Balfour Beatty.
