Shri Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina, prime ministers of India and Bangladesh, respectively, have attended virtually the inauguration ceremony of the Friendship Pipeline that links both the countries.
The India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFP) pipeline is the second energy pipeline established by India with its neighbouring countries. The pipeline is able to transport 1 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) of high-speed diesel (HSD) from India to Bangladesh.
The prime ministers were also present during the beginning of construction in September 2018, when the foundation stone was laid.
