DHL Express has signed a 10-year offtake agreement with Dubai-based SAF One for the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The deal secures 25,000 tonnes of unblended SAF annually, totalling 250,000 tonnes over the contract's duration.
The fuel will be sourced from SAF One’s flagship production facility in Bahrain, which is scheduled to commence operations in 2028. Representing the first SAF plant in the Middle East, the development aligns with DHL’s broader strategy to incorporate 30% sustainable fuels into its global aviation network by 2030.
The supplied volumes will be allocated globally using a book-and-claim model, enabling customers to reduce their Scope 3 emissions via DHL’s GoGreen Plus service. This strategic partnership diversifies the logistics provider's supply chain while accelerating regional decarbonisation efforts.
