BuhaWind Energy has started a new round of feasibility studies for the 2GW Northern Luzon floating offshore wind project off the Philippines.
The developer, which is a joint venture between PetroGreen Energy and Copenhagen Energy, said it has launched two LiDAR units and a met mast to gather site data. This will add to three years of measurements previously taken for the project off Ilocos Norte.
BuhaWind said it has also engaged consultancy Arup to lead work on environmental and social impact studies and partnered with Mapua University and Mariano Marcos State University to explore skills and training opportunities.
Several local and regional government authorities joined the multi-stakeholder launch event in Laong City last week.
