Envision Energy has dispatched the initial four EN-226/8.X MW turbines for the 128MW Vinh Long nearshore wind development in Vietnam. Developed by REE Group, the site will feature 16 units. Upon commissioning, the facility will hold the largest single-turbine capacity for any nearshore wind asset in South East Asia.
The hardware departed from Envision's Sheyang manufacturing base in China, marking a milestone in deploying large-megawatt offshore technology to the region. Further deliveries are scheduled over the coming months.
Secured in January, the supply contract covers the 48MW V1-3 Phase II and 80MW V1-5&6 Phase II sites. The development aligns with REE Group's strategy to invest US$1bn to increase its renewable capacity from 1,200MW to 3,000MW by 2030, heavily targeting offshore and floating solar assets.
