Altera Infrastructure has finalised agreements with Eni to supply a newbuild floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel for the Baleine Phase 3 development, located 70km offshore Côte d’Ivoire.
The contract encompasses the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of the unit, which will be built by Wison New Energies. Upon delivery, Altera will manage the asset under a 15-year bareboat charter, backed by major long-term financing from international investors.
Positioned in water depths up to 1,300m, the facility will process 90,000 barrels per day (b/d) of oil and 160MMcf/d of gas, alongside a 1.4m barrel storage capacity. This infrastructure raises the field's total liquid output to 150,000b/d, with all recovered gas allocated to domestic power generation.
