UK-based technology provider Asset55 has secured a contract from Japanese offshore contractor MODEC to supply digital execution software for the Gato Do Mato development. Located in the Orca field offshore Brazil, the project will utilise a floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO). The deepwater asset is scheduled to commence operations in 2029, targeting an output of 120,000 barrels per day.
Under the agreement, Asset55 will deploy its Validate and Execute platforms across the vessel's fabrication, integration and commissioning phases. The software establishes a centralised framework for data verification, delivering multi-discipline visualisation tools for engineering teams. A primary focus is integration planning, directly supporting MODEC’s objective of achieving a rapid 30-day unit integration timeline.
By mitigating execution risks, this digital approach safeguards delivery schedules across complex upstream supply chains.
