US oilfield services provider Halliburton has secured a comprehensive contract from Basra Oil Company to deliver integrated field management alongside engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services in southern Iraq. The agreement encompasses the development of both the Bin Umar and Sindbad oil and gas fields.
Under the contract scope, Halliburton will deploy its Landmark digital platform to integrate subsurface insights, streamline well construction and optimise overall production performance. A central focus of the development programme is boosting domestic power generation capacity by capturing associated gas. During the initial five-year phase at the Bin Umar field, output is targeted to reach approximately 150,000b/d of oil and 300MMcf/d of gas, supporting national efforts to curb fuel imports.
