Quality assurance provider Intertek has issued its inaugural Notified Body compliance certificates under the recently enforced EU Battery Regulation. The certifications were awarded to Chinese manufacturers RelyEZ Energy and StarCharge for their stationary battery energy storage systems.
The European Union’s updated regulatory framework introduces stringent mandates covering carbon footprint tracking, enhanced waste management and supply chain due diligence. Intertek is currently the only designated Notified Body capable of conducting Article 12 compliance assessments specifically for stationary storage infrastructure.
RelyEZ Energy received certification for its GridUltra containerised units, which range from 3,344kWh to 5,016kWh, while StarCharge secured approval for its commercial cabinet system. Securing this compliance enables both equipment providers to expand their operational footprint within the European market as the region accelerates its grid stability initiatives.
