Technip Energies, alongside partners JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries, has secured a major engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) contract for the Coral Norte floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) project offshore Mozambique.
Awarded by Mozambique Rovuma Venture—comprising Eni, ExxonMobil and China National Petroleum Corporation—the development targets the deepwater Area 4 gas block.
Replicating the design of the operational Coral Sul facility, the new vessel will boast a production capacity of 3.6mtpa. This strategic duplication approach accelerates large-scale offshore delivery, minimises execution risk and boosts the Coral hub's total output to 7mtpa. Consequently, Mozambique is set to become one of Africa’s top three LNG producers.
Technip Energies classifies this as a major award, representing over €1bn in combined revenue value for the firm.
