ENGIE has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Procter and Gamble (P&G) related to its Sun Valley project in Texas, United States. According to the deal, 200MW of the solar plant’s total capacity of 250MW has been secured by P&G.
This PPA is the largest ever firmed by P&G. The agreement guarantees a continuous power supply of 530,000MWh per year.
The Sun Valley photovoltaic (PV) project will be built in Hill County, 65 miles away from Dallas. The tax revenues to be generated by Sun Valley are calculated to reach over US$25m.
After completion, Sun Valley will feature up to 1500 head of sheep for the natural control of vegetation at the site.
Construction has already started with the involvement of more than 300 workers. Start-up is expected later in 2022.
