Iberdrola has commenced commissioning works at its Majada Alta and San Antonio photovoltaic (PV) projects in western Spain. The two new facilities, with a combined capacity of 100MW, were built in Cedillo, Extremadura region.
Approximately 250,000 PV modules will be featured in Majada Alta and San Antonio. Together, they will be able to power approximately 45,000 homes, avoiding 28,000 tonnes per year of CO2 emissions.
Once full operations are achieved, Iberdrola will have 20 renewable energy plants in Extremadura, totalling over 3.8GW of capacity.
