TotalEnergies has announced first oil from the Ikike field, Nigeria. The company is the operator of the OML99 licence with a 40% stake in partnership with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), which holds the remaining 60%.
Out of the total amount of work dedicated to the completion of this project, 95% of hours were carried out by local contractors, including the construction and integration of the jacket and topside modules.
The development’s platform is a tie-back to the Amenam field offshore assets, also owned by TotalEnergies and placed 15km south of Ikike.
By the end of the year, peak production from Ikike is calculated to be 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day.
The field is located 20km off the coast in water depths of 20 metres.
