Corio Generation has unveiled the plans for five offshore wind projects in Brazil. The plants, which are jointly developed with Brazilian company Servtec, will have a capacity of over 5GW.
The fixed-bottom farms are the 1.2GW Costa Nordeste, Cassino and Guarita, the 1.17GW Rio Grande and the 495MW Vitória. The facilities will be distributed among the country’s north-east, south-east and south coasts.
The regulatory process for the full development of these initiatives is still ongoing.
Corio (part of the Macquarie’s Green Investment Group) and Servtec have worked closely for over 18 months to assess Brazil’s opportunities in the offshore wind sector.
