Integración Energética Argentina SA (IEASA) has launched a tendering process for selecting an EPC contractor for the first section of the planned Vaca Muerta pipeline. This will consist of a 558km, 36-inch connection between Tratayén and Salliqueló.
The required work is so complex that only four companies are said to have the technical capacity to meet the tender’s requirements: Techint, Sacde, Victor Contreras and BTU.
Proposals will be received on 8 July, with an official agreement expected to be reached in August 2022. Current plans are to inaugurate this section of the pipeline before the winter season of 2024, which will commence in late June.
The Tratayén-Saliquelló-San Nicolás gas pipeline, also known as Néstor Kirchner, will have a total length of 1,025km and will link fields in Neuquén to the Saturno gas compression plant in Salliqueló and onwards to San Jerónimo in Santa Fé.
