According to developer NextEnergy Solar Fund, construction of the Whitecross solar power plant in Loncolnshire, England, has begun. Gemec is disclosed to be the project’s EPC contractor.
Works were first scheduled to begin during the first half of 2021. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the supply chain at the time, they had to be postponed until now.
When completed in early 2023, Whitecross will be a 36MW photovoltaic plant able to energise around 10,000 houses per year. The plant’s bifacial modules will be supplied by Jinko Solar.
