Proserv Controls, a global controls technology company, has secured a relevant contract to manufacture and deliver 22 wellhead control panels (WHCP) to the Basra Oil Company (BOC) for use on the Majnoon oil field in southern Iraq.
The transaction was arranged through KBR, an engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) company based in Houston, which is the EPCM leader in BOC's plan to increase the field's production capacity.
Each of these 22 WHCPs can control up to 4 wells, and they have been designated for 70 new wells currently under development. At present, Majnoon’s daily output is only slightly higher than 200,000 barrels (bpd), but the BOC’s strategy is to more than double this to above 400,000 bpd in the next two years.
Proserv will deliver WHCP in three lots. The first one will be delivered at the end of the third quarter of 2021, the second one in the fourth quarter, and the last one will arrive in March 2022.
The company will use its developed footprint in the Arabian Gulf to deliver the order, and the WHCP will be produced at Proserv’s dedicated site in Jebel Ali, Dubai.
The value of the contract has not yet been disclosed.
