The Indonesian House of Representatives has unanimously authorised proposed electricity tariffs for state utility PT PLN Batam and PT Kolaka Green Energy. This agreement with the government enables the formal implementation of the revised billing rates.
PT Kolaka Green Energy is currently advancing vital power infrastructure at the Indonesia Pomalaa Industrial Park (IPIP) in Southeast Sulawesi, a prominent nickel processing hub. Following the groundbreaking of a 220kV transmission line and substation in December 2025, the firm secured a long-term electricity purchase agreement with PT Surelyrich Powerplant Indonesia.
Backed by a US$248.75m performance bond from Chinese shareholder Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt, the IPIP development is expected to feature a 2x250MW captive power plant. Separately, PLN Batam will utilise the tariff approval to support its diesel-fired power operations across Batam Island.
