Indigenous engineering firm Oilserv has achieved mechanical completion on its 303km section of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline. The critical infrastructure, which forms a central pillar of Nigeria’s Decade of Gas initiative, is now ready for gas transportation.
Final construction activities are currently focused on gas treatment facilities located in Ajaokuta and Abuja, alongside several block valve stations. Full operational status is anticipated between late 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. Once commissioned, the pipeline will facilitate the movement of natural gas from the producing southern regions to power and industrial markets in northern Nigeria.
In parallel, Oilserv is executing further strategic domestic infrastructure, including a 6km shallow-water pipeline installation for the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) GTS-1 expansion project at Bonny Island.
