Saggaf succeeds Azman Nasir, who leaves the EIC after eleven years of distinguished service
KUALA LUMPUR, 11 August:
The Energy Industries Council (EIC), the leading trade association for companies that supply goods and services to the energy industries worldwide, announces the appointment of Ts. Syed Saggaf bin Syed Ahmad as its new Regional Director for Asia Pacific (APAC).
Saggaf succeeds Azman Nasir, who has left the EIC after eleven years of distinguished service. Nasir contributed massively to the development of the EIC in the APAC region and played an instrumental role in many global EIC decisions.
Saggaf joins the EIC following a highly successful 15-year tenure at Shapadu Group, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of its Oil and Gas Division. He also served as Executive Director of Shapadu subsidiary CR Asia Sdn Bhd. Saggaf brings over 25 years of regional energy industry experience, spanning engineering, project management, and executive leadership. He is also the current President of the Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC).
Commenting on the appointment, Stuart Broadley, CEO of the EIC, said:

Saggaf will lead the EIC's activities across the Asia Pacific region from the organisation's Kuala Lumpur office, supporting members and bolstering the EIC's influence in this critical energy market.

Ts. Syed Saggaf joins the EIC after 15 years with Shapadu Group, culminating in the role of CEO for its Oil and Gas Division, managing upstream and downstream services and marine assets. He was also Executive Director of Shapadu CR Asia Sdn Bhd. He has approximately 25 years of industry experience managing major contracts. Saggaf holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from Universiti Tenaga Nasional. He is the current President of the Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC), Ambassador of UNITEN, Vice President of Alumni Sains Muar Association, and holds several other board/advisory positions.

Azman Nasir served as EIC's Regional Director for Asia Pacific for eleven years. During his tenure, he drove significant growth and development for the EIC across the APAC region and provided key strategic input on global EIC initiatives. Prior to the EIC, he held senior positions in several Malaysian oil and gas companies including as a CEO for one major fabricator yard.
