A non-biding memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Tamboran Resources Corporation and Santos Limited for technical studies related to a potential expansion of Darwin LNG's Train 2. Located in the Beetaloo Basin, Australia, the Darwin LNG facility could increase its capacity by 6 million tonnes per annum (MMtpa).
Darwin LNG is owned by Santos (with an operating stake of 75%) and Tamboran (which holds the remaining 25%). Currently, its approved capacity sits at 10MMtpa.
At the moment, the export plant is nearly done with an extension project of the pipeline that will connect Darwin LNG to the Barossa pipeline.
