Vestas has announced a contract win for the Inch Cape project, a 1.1GW offshore wind farm in Scotland. According to the company, Vestas will carry out works related to the turbines' supply, installation and commissioning.
Each of the 72 turbines is designed with a generation capacity of 15MW. The machines will be installed in the North Sea at approximately 9 miles off the shore of Angus.
First installations are scheduled for 2026, with full operations expected in 2027. The Inch Cape project is developed by a 50-50 joint venture formed by ESB Energy and Red Rock Renewables.
