Saipem has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from QatarEnergy LNG. The contracted services, valued at nearly US$4bn, are related to the North Field project offshore Qatar.
The company will be involved in two phases of the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Compression Programme, which seeks to maintain natural gas production levels. Saipem will handle the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of six platforms.
Activities will also cover subsea pipelines, composite cables and other facilities.
