Woodside has firmed a deal for the acquisition of Tellurian, owner of the Driftwood liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Louisiana, United States. The acquisition was valued at US$900m.
Driftwood LNG, which is located near Lake Charles, has already received all necessary permits for its development. The initiative now only pends a final investment decision (FID).
The project covers the construction of five LNG trains, a work that will be split in four phases. In total, the facility will have a capacity of 27.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and feature associated pipeline network.
