First energy has been achieved at the Moray West offshore wind project in Scotland. The offshore wind farm was developed by Ocean Winds and has a generation capacity of 882MW.
First power from the first wind turbine at the plant was delivered to the National Electricity Transmission System (NETS). Located in Moray Firth, northern Scotland, Moray West will be fully operational in 2025.
Ocean Winds, a 50-50 joint venture (JV) formed by Engie and EDP Renewables, is the main developer of the project. Ignitis Renewables holds a small minority stake.
